Richardson-Davis believes that caring for families during their emotional loss goes beyond the funeral - and the final good-bye. We provide free bereavement services to families we have served and anyone in the surrounding area through a support group which meets for eight-week sessions. The facilitator for the group is support staff and bereavement coordinator Yvonne Matus, LSW, MSW.

The firm also has a grief resource library to help families and children understand death and adjust to their loss. In addition, staff members offer tours of the funeral home and regularly make presentations to schools, churches and organizations to educate the public about funeral services.

Each May we distribute Memorial Tribute Trees - blue spruce seedlings - to recognize and honor family members and friends who have died. The event, which began in 1997, has become a tradition on Memorial Day weekend, with thousands of seedlings planted in memory of loved ones.
